During the last weeks of our English lessons we, class 6/2, talked about charities and community services. We also wanted to do something good for our area. Therefore, we decided to make a bake sale to raise money for a local charity organization. In class we had a vote about which charity we want to support. At the end we voted for the animal shelter in Jena-Göschwitz because we love animals and want to help them. So on Wednesday and Thursday this week we made our bake sale and sold fresh waffles, home-made cakes, muffins and brownies. At the end we could raise 360€ for the animal-shelter Jena.
On Friday, we went to the animal-shelter to give them our donations. They showed us the animals and the shelter and explained to us what they do there to help the animals. It was really interesting and great to see the animals there. We are happy that we can help with some money. The shelter told us that they will use the money for medical bills to help the animals.
If you are also interested in helping the animals in our area, then you can donate food for the animals at the shelter in Göschwitz. The animal shelter is always happy about donations.
Doing something good felt really awesome!
